At the meeting, Mr. Mark Green updated on the implementation status of the Son My LNG Terminal project: after establishing the Charter of Son My LNG Warehouse Company, the agreement and necessary documents suitable with Vietnamese laws for founding Son My LNG Warehouse Company were signed by PV Gas and AES on February 27, 2022, the documents on Son My LNG Warehouse Joint Stock Company ware submitted to Binh Thuan Provincial Department of Planning and Investment. At present, the sides are actively coordinating to work with Binh Thuan provincial relevant agencies to as soon as possible obtain the Investment Registration Certificate and finalize relevant investment procedures.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong considers Son My LNG terminal is an important project for Vietnam and PVN wishes to promote the project implementation towards synchronizing the use of LNG for power projects.
Especially, in the current global energy transition trend, PVN asks AES to share its experience in renewable energy, offshore wind power and hydrogen projects in Vietnam.
AES realizes that Vietnam has the potential to develop offshore wind power projects and wishes to cooperate with PVN to develop and implement projects in this field, as well as hydrogen projects.
In addition, AES can share experiences and cooperate with PVN in providing battery storage systems for power projects.
Mr. Mark Green shares a coordination of AES strategic goal with the energy transition strategy of Vietnam that should contribute to global efforts to reduce emissions.
